The World Space Week 2023 was celebrated in the Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri from 4th-6th Oct. 2023. The event was conducted by SDSC-SHAR, ISRO and was graced by Director CSIR-IMMT as Chief Guest and Deputy Director SHAR on the 1st day.The valedictory and Prize Distribution was graced by His Excellency The Hon'ble Governor of Odisha Prof. Ganeshi Lal as Chief Guest and Director & Associate Director SDSC-SHAR, ISRO as other guests. Three teams from IIT Bhubaneswar participated in the 3 day long event which saw the visit and participation of nearly 15,000 students, delegates and public. The Teams were led by Mr. K. Srikanth, Mr. S. S. Moharana, Ms. D. Mahapatra, Mr. S. Ray with few students from M.Tech and MSc. (AOS) programmes as other members. The members made the general public aware about the multitudes of applications of satellite remote sensing by presenting their work in this topic, as well as introduced some innovative ideas to enhance the applicability of some remote sensing techniques. The IITBBS team won the First Prize in Innovative Design category, and received the award from the gracious hands of Shri A Rajarajan, eminent scientist and Director SDSC-SHAR, ISRO.
